Back to Blogging...

Hi all! I know it's been a while, a lot of ups and a lot of downs. And now, lots of good things going on in my life. I hadn't given up on the 101 Things in 1001 Days, but when I left my job almost 2 years ago it put a lot of it on hold.

I'm happy to report that I am in a new job, Matthew is finally an RN, and we're continuing to work towards more exciting goals in the future. In order to continue with the fresh start I'm going to be giving myself another 1001 days as of January 1, 2012. I figure that New Year, new start. I'll be back soon with some updates of some of the things I've accomplished thus far, and to fill you in on the exciting times that have happened since I was last on here.

Until then, take care!

Love,
Tiffany

The Beginning of #8 & #10... what a way to start the new year...

Happy New Year to all! In my 28 years of being on this earth I have never made a New Years Resolution. Partly because I always saw people failing, but in the spirit of this blog, I thought it an appropriate time to kick-start 2 of my goals.

About 3 months ago I bough Jackie Warner's book, in order to focus my energy on eating healthier, working out more, and directly my energy into a positive force. And come the beginning of December, the book sat there, on my night stand, unread. So, about two weeks ago I picked it up and started planning my method of attack!

Luckily for me, #8 taking my vitamins for 30 days, and #10 working out 4 days a week for 4 weeks, fits in very nicely with the Warner Way, and so today is my first day of those 2 goals! Wish me luck folks, I'll keep you updated along the way!

# 56... not quite completed, but working on it...

So, as it is almost a new year, I wanted to take some time to blog about one of my goals that I would like to focus on more in order to make a healthier me!

Although I was raised in a very loving, respectful home, I was not one that attended a church or a place of worship regularly. Through the growth of my relationship with my husband, we have learned a lot about each other and ourselves, and how we are happiest in our lives, and in our relationship. Matthew, being raised in a wonderful Catholic family, regularly attend worship, where he used that time to reflect and meditate. For me, my meditation came through reading and solitude during what I dub my 'alone time.' As I was active in sports until the end of high school, I never needed a physical release, but more of a mental one. And as my life has changed over the last decade, I found that I miss the group participation of an activity, as well as I find difficulty in finding 'alone time.'

Matthew was the one that suggested we consider taking up yoga, as an activity that we can do together, with others, while meditating and focusing our energy in positive manner to change/mold our lives. While shopping at one of our favorite stores, Lululemon, we discovered that they offer free classes to patrons, varying from location-to-location, and week-to-week, yoga being one of the weekly classes offered at our local Lulu location.

For all intensive purposes of the blog, I am only counting the yoga classes that I take at Lululemon (6 thus far), but it has opened my eyes to other ways and locations of practicing yoga. We took a class together while on vacation in Palm Springs (another goal that I will write about another time), and I have been utilizing my On Demand Sports & Fitness section, so that I can practice anytime I like in the comfort of my own home (Matthew loves it when we use our cable box for things other than TV, like fitness and music).

Another fantastic reason to highlight this goal, as I am making some life changes in my career goals, I read that anybody planning on attending Law School should take up healthy fitness regime in order to find balance and prepare the body and mind for the stress that it will endure. Although I am not yet done with this goal, and I will report back when I am, I think that it is always helpful to reflect on on-going projects in order to make further progress. And maybe I'll inspire somebody else to make healthy life choices in order to help better themselves with their overall goals and life plans!

#6

Yay!!!!! New year, new me! Finally, a project that has been almost 3 years in the making, finished! Over the last few weeks I have been working on compiling my Ultimate Reading List, a project that I thought about starting when I graduated High School almost a decade ago. My Senior year there were so many books that I wanted to read, and never got around to, so I told myself once I was in college I would take time to read some of those classics.

Now that the list has been completed, using 3 different references, I have 463 books to look forward to reading (in addition to some friend & chick lit recommendations). Drop me a line/e-mail if you would like me to forward on my list to you!

Happy Reading Everyone!

#97

I know, I know, I haven't been updating and since I've completed a few things on my list you'll see a few new posts in the next few days. The first thing that was completed on my list though was #97. Matthew told me that he wanted the last item on my list to be one that he added (which was one that I wanted to put there anyways). The second he hit save he left the room and came running back in with a 'present' for me to start off my goals with, and they were none other than the gold aviators I was looking at a few weeks before. He bought them soon after I saw them, and was going to wait until my birthday to give them to me, but I'm sure glad that he didn't!

The picture of me in my new glasses was taken when Matthew and I were home visiting family and for my Grandmother's funeral. We wanted to take some time with my Mom, and continue on a tradition of visiting the Street of Dreams. Although every other person in the world would not share my view, but instead of living in a multi-level/million dollar mansion, I would much rather spend my life in a tall skyscraper condo! Matthew took this picture of me on the rooftop of the only two condos, while I was looking out towards Mt. Hood.

And so the journey begins...

Hello everyone! Friends, family and those who I have yet to meet, welcome to my first ever blog! I'm excited to start my 101 Things in 1001 Days challenge, as I see it as an opportunity to take time to evaluate my life, and accomplish the things that I always said I would, but have never gotten around to. First of all I would like to thank my amazing friend, Laura Cushman Magdalen, who inspired me to start this journey, as she too is in the midst of this challenge, and has always been an amazing inspiration to me! And of course, let's give my husband Matthew some props, as he is the one that will be taking the trip with me, without his love, I don't know where I would be today, and/or if any of my goals would be possible! Happy reading, and please, check-up on me, keep me on my toes, and send out inspiration to others by starting your own journey!
